Jurnalrisa Coffee Dago is a thoughtfully designed extension of Jurnalrisa Coffee. Nestled in Sumur Bandung, Bandung, Indonesia, the location is rich in character, known for its blend of colonial-era charm and modern vibrancy. The district exudes an old-world elegance with its preserved heritage buildings, tree-lined streets, and a thriving cultural scene. A place where the past lingers in the air, yet contemporary creativity flourishes—cafés, boutiques, and artistic spaces breathe new life into its historic framework. In this unique setting, Jurnal coffee Dago emerges as a space that not only respects its surroundings but also enhances the experience of those who step inside. Tasked with transforming this vision into reality, our approach was rooted in precision, material integrity, and an unwavering commitment to aesthetic storytelling. The challenge was to create an immersive space that balances nostalgia with modern efficiency while ensuring a seamless build process. Wood-textured surfaces bring the warmth of natural timber while offering superior durability and ease of maintenance. Industrial metal accents complement the overall aesthetic, adding a sense of structure and contrast. A cohesive spatial narrative guides visitors through a visual and experiential journey, integrating the brand’s storytelling DNA into every corner. The layered lighting strategy, combining soft ambient illumination, accent fixtures, and natural light modulation, enhances both mood and functionality. Custom fabrication and detailing further elevate the space, with bespoke furniture, decorative elements, and intricate joinery work reflecting the artisanal spirit of the brand.
Beyond aesthetics, every design decision was driven by functionality. Ergonomic and operational flow was carefully considered, with strategic zoning of service counters, seating arrangements, and circulation pathways to optimize both efficiency and customer experience. Material durability and maintenance efficiency were prioritized, ensuring that finishes not only complemented the thematic vision but also offered longevity and ease of upkeep. Acoustic and thermal comfort were also integrated through sound-absorbing materials and passive cooling techniques, creating a pleasant indoor atmosphere that enhances the café experience. Executing Jurnal Dago presented its share of challenges, requiring adaptability and problem-solving at every stage. Structural adaptation within a compact space demanded careful optimization of load distribution and utility integration without compromising the design intent. Sourcing and installing custom elements required meticulous planning to manage lead times and ensure seamless on-site assembly of handcrafted features. Balancing aesthetic vision with practical constraints was another key challenge, necessitating a careful navigation of budget and timeline considerations while maintaining design integrity.
The completed Jurnal Dago space stands as a testament to how design-conscious construction can elevate a brand’s identity. Through meticulous execution, we have delivered an environment that not only embodies Jurnalrisa Coffee’s storytelling ethos but also functions seamlessly for both guests and operators. The result is a sophisticated yet inviting café space—where craftsmanship, ambiance, and functionality converge to create an unforgettable experience.
