As the first location in the Jurnalrisa Coffee franchise, the Braga store sets the tone for future expansions, carrying forward the brand’s unique blend of heritage, storytelling, and exceptional coffee. Today, Jurnalrisa Coffee stands as a living extension of the brand—where every corner tells a story, every sip evokes nostalgia, and every visit becomes part of a larger journey. Located in the heart of Braga, Bandung, an area rich in history and culture, the café seamlessly blends the unique identity of Jurnalrisa with an inviting atmosphere. Braga is known for its well-preserved colonial-era architecture, lined with vintage buildings, art deco facades, and a nostalgic charm that transports visitors back in time. Jurnalrisa Coffee embraces this heritage while infusing it with contemporary elements, creating a space that feels both timeless and modern.
The architectural design of Jurnalrisa Coffee respects the historical character of Braga while incorporating fresh, minimalist touches. The exterior maintains a classic look, with large glass windows framed by elegant, dark wood accents that invite passersby to take a glimpse inside. The interior design draws inspiration from both classic and contemporary aesthetics, combining vintage charm with modern minimalism. High ceilings and arched doorways pay homage to Bandung’s colonial past, while warm wood and earthy tones create a cozy ambiance. Storytelling walls, adorned with murals, framed memories, and art pieces, narrate the journey of Jurnalrisa, making every corner a conversation starter. Subtle Gothic accents, inspired by Jurnalrisa’s mysterious and intriguing spirit, are subtly woven into the lighting, furniture, and decor—manifesting in ornate chandeliers, vintage-inspired seating, and dark metal fixtures that add an element of depth and character. The space is designed with a balance between open areas for community gatherings and intimate corners for solo coffee rituals, ensuring that every visitor finds a spot that suits their mood.
Beyond aesthetics, functionality plays a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience. Ergonomic seating arrangements ensure comfort for long conversations, work sessions, or quick coffee breaks, while an optimized counter layout allows baristas to work efficiently, delivering high-quality coffee. The café also embraces a flexible indoor-outdoor flow, allowing guests to enjoy the cozy interior or step outside for fresh air. Bringing this vision to life came with challenges, from selecting durable materials that maintain the café’s character to maximizing space utilization for a seamless experience. Another key aspect was integrating Jurnalrisa’s signature storytelling into the physical space while keeping it fresh and engaging. Through strong collaboration between designers, architects, and the Jurnalrisa team, every detail was thoughtfully executed.
